Step 1 - Setup your account

Whether it's your first time managing payroll, or you run it regularly with your eyes closed, we've prepared a set of articles to guide you towards a smooth transition during the start of your Earny journey.

There are 4 steps to setting up your account:

Setting up a payroll takes around 5-10 business days depending on the company's size, payroll data availability and context. We highly recommend not leaving things to the last minute, so that we have time to double-check everything has been set up correctly.

What payroll data do I need?

The below are items required before you can run payroll.

  1. Your company needs to be incorporated in Switzerland. If you are pending incorporation, you can check the status on Switzerland's central registry - https://www.zefix.ch/en/search/entity/welcome
  2. Upon incorporation, you need to register your company with a local kantonal compensation fund. In Zurich for example, this is SVA Zurich meanwhile in Vaud this can be Chambre vaudoise du commerce et de l'industrie (CVCI). 
  3. You will need to acquire accident insurance and pension for your employees. Both of these are mandatory. This can be done directly with an insurance provider like Groupe Mutuel or Zurich Insurance otherwise you can go through brokers like Qualibroker or Helvengo. 
  4. Your employees need to have a valid AHV numbers. You registered employees with the local kanton authority to receive their AHV number. 
  5. You need a company bank account.
